The Mignon line from Eureka has a grinder for every setting you can imagine, making it the perfect range to choose from when picking your very first coffee grinder, or maybe even your third! The selection of Mignon grinders can be quite overwhelming when you're planning to get one. But what's the difference between them? Which one is the best for you?

Eureka Mignon Coffee Grinder Series

The Mignon range is created for the domestic setting, and they have been quite popular in recent years among home baristas and coffee enthusiasts alike. However, they have also been spotted in small-scale commercial settings, or smaller cafes due to its small footprint but powerful performance.

In this blog, we will be comparing the Mignon range that we have on our shelf which includes:

  1. Mignon Specialita

  2. Mignon XL

  3. Mignon Single Dose

  4. Mignon Zero (NEW!)

  5. Mignon Libra (NEW!)

Specialita

If you're looking for an espresso grinder, look no further than the Mignon Specialita.

It features a sizeable 55 mm hardened steel burrs, a touch screen timed dosing function, high speed maintenance, noise insulation and plenty of colour options to choose from. The Grind Productivity gives out up to 1.8 grams per second for espresso, making it one of the faster grinders from the Mignon range along with the Mignon Zero and Libra.

You should get the Mignon Specialita if :

You're an avid espresso drinker. You value time, as the sizeable burrs give out significantly greater grams per second with consistency. It comes with a touch screen, making adjustment as easy as it should be. The colour options gives you the choice to match your espresso machine, counter top, and even your whole kitchen space.

XL

The Mignon XL is a grinder that's all about performance and convenience.

It features Eureka's patented Diamond Inside 65 mm burrs, preserving the optimal sharpness while getting faster grinding (1650 RPM) than ever before. The motor is nearly silent, it has a small footprint, and has a lot more features compared to other Mignons (Dose Counter, ELR System, High Speed Maintenance). It comes with a Barista mat kit that includes a grinder brush and tamp station to complete the ultimate home espresso set up.

You should get the Mignon XL if :

You seek the cafe barista experience at home. The Diamond Inside burrs last longer, so you can grind a lot more, and worry a lot less. You want unprecedented performance while being nearly-silent, and also has a small footprint for your counter top. The XL is large in features, and small in size.

Single Dose

The Mignon Single Dose espresso grinder sits at a 15° angle guaranteeing retention close to zero.

With large Diamond Inside 65mm burrs, high-speed productivity, and silent technology, the Single Dose offers a grinding experience like no other Mignons. It does it all while being shorter than other Mignons, and the Mignon blow up cleaning will ensure grinding consistency.

You should get the Mignon Single Dose if :

You are a home barista who likes to switch things up — coffee beans or brew method. You refuse to compromise on aesthetics and still value performance. You want a home grinder that can compete with commercial, that is also compact, silent, and of superior build quality. The Single Dose is the grinder for the home barista who enjoys the therapeutic workflow of a single dose grinder.

Zero (NEW!)

Standing at just 34.6 cm tall, the Mignon Zero is the smallest grinder in the Mignon line-up.

Built for single dosing, this grinder uses 55 mm hardened steel flat burrs and a bellows system for efficient grinding with just a switch of the on/off button. With an adjustable all-in-one fork and a 45 g dosing cup, the Mignon Zero is a simple and sure-fire way to get your coffee grounds just how you want them.

You should get the Mignon Zero if :

You are a space-conscious home barista who wants a no-frills espresso grinder. With virtually zero retention thanks to the bellow on top of the hopper, you'll get every last bit of your precious coffee beans.

Libra (NEW!)

Ditch the scale with the Mignon Libra.

This is Eureka's first grinder with their patented Instant Grind Weighing Technology (IGWT), so your dose will be measured by weight unlike the timed dosing found in the Mignon Specialita and Mignon XL.

Built with 55 mm hardened steel burrs and an intuitive touch display, the Mignon Libra grinds your grounds extremely quickly and also prevents waste through its unique anti-vibration system that continues grinding in case of disturbances to the fork.

You should get the Mignon Libra if :

You're searching for an espresso grinder with maximum precision with minimal effort and zero waste. You can simplify your coffee workflow by combining weighing and grinding into one with the Mignon Libra's grind by weight capabilities.

All of the Mignon grinders we have mentioned above have stepless grind adjustment, and they all feature the ACE system (Anti-Clumps & Electrostaticity System) which prevents the formation of clumps and ensures dose consistency.

If you're still unsure which Mignon is for you, here's a comparison table of all the Mignons we have mentioned above.
