Staff Picks of the Month : Fellow Atmos Coffee Vacuum Canister

If you're having trouble storing your coffee beans and keeping them fresh, our staff picks of the month might just do the trick. September's Staff Picks of the Month goes to Is, the warehouse and shop assistant who's been with Lamarsa for close to 2 years.

With 4 years of warehousing experience in various industries, it has become second nature for Is to maneuver his way around the Lamarsa warehouse. "Processing daily orders, doing inventory control, and ensuring all the products are in its right place are some of the work that I do on a daily basis".

"Communication with the rest of the team is crucial to ensure a smooth workflow. Especially when we are receiving new brands or products on platform, the day or even week can get quite hectic."

"Of course it gets challenging at times, but that's how I get my drive. And it gives me satisfaction when I get to clear them!"

As Is was flipping through the shelves, he took out a box of Fellow Atmos Vacuum Canister. "After handling so many products everyday, the Atmos is my favorite pick. It's one of our best selling barista accessories."

Curiosity got the best of Is, and he recalled looking up the Atmos and did some reading to understand why it is so popular. "I also asked my fellow colleagues who understand the products in-depth, and they explained to me about oxidation".

Like most foods, coffee beans get stale when exposed to oxygen. This oxidation process deteriorates the coffee beans of its aromas and flavours, which is why your coffee doesn't taste as good as it did when you first bought it days ago. Normally, you would store them in an air tight container, or even a vacuum canister to keep them fresh.

We followed Is to the demo bar, and he proceeded to demonstrate how to use the Atmos.

The Atmos vacuum canister is a little different from other vacuum canisters — it doesn't use an external pump to suck out the oxygen and pressurize the container. Instead, you turn its lid back and forth to pressurize and remove oxygen. There's even a little green dot on the lid that indicates it's ready!

"And to open the lid is just as easy – you do it by pressing the big button which releases the pressure".

The Atmos comes in a variety of colours and sizes, so you can store your coffee beans accordingly. Of course, it's not limited to just keeping your coffee beans fresh, but also other perishable foods such as cereals, dried fruits, trail mix, or anything that you'd like to keep fresh.

"It also has a beautiful and simple design, and would look really great on your counter top or even at the coffee shop. Apart from that, it is easy to use and has an appealing design. The glass Atmos looks really good and you can see the content of your canister. While the stainless steel keeps sunlight away and is very durable."

The Fellow Atmos Vacuum Canister is robust, and bound to withstand the test of time. The perfect canister to keep your coffee tastes as good as day one.
