Staff Picks of the Month - Fellow Stagg EKG Electric Pour Over Kettle
Faizzudin indulges in the occasional "I need the extra caffeine kick for today" cup, which is more than enough to prompt his curiosity about the coffee products he has to work with daily. From delivering coffee machines, grinders and equipment, to stock-taking, inspecting and packing items, Faizudin is the Warehouse Shipping Assistant who ensure the stock movement is kept at bay.
Undoubtedly, the warehouse is the "temporary home" of the products we receive, before making their final destination to the customers' homes. "And because of how heaving it can get on shipment days, it is part of my job to ensure orders are processed efficiently and that the delivery of items meets customers’ expectations and business timelines."
As the selected staff for this month's Staff Picks, Faizzudin decided to go with the Fellow Stagg EKG Electric Pour Over Kettle, or the Stagg kettle for short. Although we have quite a few selection of kettles to choose from our platform, the Stagg kettle seems to be the popular choice among our customers. "Or at least from my experience since I joined Lamarsa about a year ago."
The Fellow Stagg EKG Electric Pour-Over Kettle is a premium kettle designed for precision pouring and temperature control, making it the perfect tool for the home barista or coffee aficionado.
The kettle's design is sleek and modern, with a matte black or matte white finish and a curved handle for a comfortable grip. The kettle's base is made of durable plastic, ensuring that it will last for years to come.
"One of the standout features of the Stagg kettle is its precise temperature control. The kettle is equipped with an LCD display and a variable temperature control dial, allowing you to set the temperature to within 1 degree Celsius. This means that you can brew your coffee at the perfect temperature for the perfect cup every time." The dial also lets you access to the built-in stop watch that will be shown on the LCD display which is really handy when you're brewing pour overs.
The Stagg kettle has a convenient hold mode feature, which allows you to keep the water at a desired temperature for up to 60 minutes when you turn it on. When turned off, the Stagg will shut off once it has reached the target temperature like a regular electric kettle.
This means that you can achieve temperature consistency when brewing pour overs, or even brew multiple cups of coffee without having to reheat the water.
Another great feature of the Stagg EKG kettle is its "Quick Stop" pour spout, which allows you to precisely pour water without drips, ensuring a clean pour every time. Even the handle was designed carefully with practicality in mind. Stagg's weighted handle shifts the center of mass closer to your hand for an easier pour.
"The designers at Fellow has definitely done extensive research and development on the Stagg as it is one of the most ergonomically designed kettle I have ever used. I tried pouring multiple times to see if the spout would drip, but it wouldn't even drip a single drop."
Faizzudin was part of the Lamarsa crew during the Malaysia AeroPress Championship 2022, and observed most of the participants using the Stagg as their trusted pour over kettle. "I have also seen the Stagg being used in international brewing championships, which further strengthens Fellow's reputation in manufacturing world class coffee equipment."
"Despite all the fancy features, I have to admit that the beautiful design of the Stagg is why it caught my attention in the first place. Fun fact, even Kendall Jenner has one in her home that she uses to brew her favorite beverages! " he snickered. "At this price point, the Stagg EKG Kettle might seem a bit pricey but once you've tried it for yourself, it is definitely worth the investment".
